FOOTREST FOR IKEA ANTILOP

A footrest for the high chair contributes to a safer meal for the child. If the high chair does not have a footrest, the legs "dangle" in the air, creating instability and greater effort for the child. Without a footrest, there is a risk that the pelvis will tilt backward, which affects the position and stability of the entire body. A backward-tilted position affects the child's ability to use their muscles and can provide less control over chewing and swallowing abilities.

The footrest for the legs simply provides stability for the rest of the body. It also makes it easier for the child to reach and grab the food with their arms and hands. You can easily adjust the height as your child grows.

The footrest is customized  to the Ikea high chair  Antelope.

Material: Bamboo wood
Includes: 1 x footrest, 4 x o-rings and 2 x clips (the o-rings are perfect when you have smaller children and need to change the height of the footrest frequently. The clips provide a firmer support and fit well when the child has grown a bit older)

Designed in Sweden, made in China. Read more about our purchasing policy here.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before first and every use, ensure that the footrest is properly seated. Wipe the footrest with a damp cloth before use.

Assembly instructions:

Parts: 1 footrest, 2 steel clamps and 4 rubber rings.

  1. The child should not sit in the high chair when installing the footrest.
  2. Remove the front chair legs from the dining chair.
  3. Thread the steel clamps onto each front leg. Turn them so that the steel ring is tightened against the legs at a temporary height.
  4. Then thread 2 rubber rings onto each of the chair's front legs so that they rest on top.
    the steel clamps.
  5. Put one front leg back in the chair.
  6. Place the footrest on top of the rings on the front leg that is attached to the chair.
  7. Slide the footrest onto the rubber rings on the other loose front leg. Then put the other front leg back into the chair.
  8. Adjust the footrest to the child's height using the steel clips.
  9. Make sure the child's feet are resting flat and the knees are at a 90° angle. The entire sole of the foot should rest against the footrest with a natural angle at the ankle. The child should sit so
as upright as possible, preferably far forward in the chair. Sometimes a pillow/blanket or
Chair cushion in the back help maintain the correct position.
  10. Adjust the height of the footrest as the child grows.
