Our silicone pre-spoon is perfect for introducing food to babies. The spoon is designed with holes where food easily sticks - just dip the spoon for the food to stick.

This spoon can be used from 4 months as part of introducing taste sensations. Simply dip the spoon in a little puree and give it to your baby. By exposing your child to different flavors early on, they may be more likely to accept and appreciate different types of food later in life. Read more here about what taste sensation is and why it is good.

When it's time to introduce solid foods, a pre-spoon is a great tool for children who want to eat on their own. With the spoon, they can eat foods of a more mashed or pureed consistency, such as porridge. The thick handle makes it easy for the baby to grab the spoon and bring it to their mouth, and the spoon's design means that the food won't fall off even if the baby tips the spoon.

"I am very happy with my purchase from you.  Pre-Spoon/beginner spoon. My 5 month old Freja tries food every day and she loves it! She especially loves to eat by herself and with the help of the spoon. Pre-Spoon/beginner spoon. She holds the spoon herself and easily learns to eat on her own! Looking forward to continuing her food journey with the help of your product!

Thank you also for your fantastic customer service. After I placed my order I regretted the color Pre-Spoon/beginner spoon and without any problems you helped me change the color.

I am very happy with my purchase from you!"

"We had a slow start in getting our little guy interested in food other than formula and porridge. His curiosity grew bigger and bigger when he started to feel and squeeze food and also got the pre-spoon/beginner spoon in every meal. Thanks to the beginner spoon, he now happily tries new dishes!"

-Matilda D

"Malte, six months has long been watching his big sister Cornelia eat with big, curious eyes. At four months, we already started letting him try and taste a little bit on his finger, but just before his sixth month, we took out his pre-spoon and plates that had been in the pantry for several months, waiting for him. An instant success! We loaded up the spoon with yogurt and mashed banana for breakfast, and for dinner he enjoyed mashed potatoes and pancakes like a happy, sticky little prince. Previously, our experience was that he could pick something up in his hand, but once his hand reached his mouth, he had already dropped it and he became frustrated and sad. With the spoon, everything suddenly became so much easier for him and he feels proud, happy and satisfied. ❤️⭐"

"We bought a preespoon for our one-year-old who really likes it. After we showed him a couple of times how to do "mash mash", he started eating most of his food with it. We are super happy!"

-Victoria

"We are so happy with the purchase of the Pre-Spoon which we have been using for 3 weeks with our daughter who is now 5 months old. She has really enjoyed getting taste sensations from it and having the opportunity to hold it herself! Perfect way to introduce food. We will buy more 😃🌼"

-Patrizia L

"Attaching a photo with the tasting spoon that was a success today -- little Finn, 5 months, ate broccoli puree with both interest and appetite. Thank you!"

-Sofia K.

"Both Buster and mom love the spoon. Perfect size for Buster so he can easily eat by himself and mom doesn't have to worry about Buster shoving the spoon down his throat or poking it in his eye. I also like how easy it is to get food up and that the food stays there for a while so Buster gets a chance to eat by himself. A big plus is the color, so pretty. I really recommend this spoon to all children, big and small. Perfect for children with little patience as the food just falls off the spoon or fork."

-Amanda Ö

"Before we got the beginner spoon, it wasn't fun at all to try food. But now it's going great. Alicia, 6 months old, loves holding her spoon!

Something I missed on the website is that there are actually 2 tasting spoons.

We also ordered a silicone spoon that is easy to grip and will probably be great in a few weeks when she gets some practice. Feels safe with these soft spoons at first and are perfect when teething.

Highly recommend!"

-Amanda M.

"Vera's first try with the training spoon. She has a very good grip and seems to find it quite easy to put in her mouth to eat."

-Amanda

"So happy with our pre-spoon. Now our little one is practicing eating on her own from 6 months old." - and she loves it!"

-Maya

"Sooo happy with the pre-spoon to
our 5 month old girl, which made the taste sensations so exciting. It feels good that she gets to practice with taste and food early on with her own will by being able to take the taste to herself. Thank you!"

-Emma R.

"We noticed early on that Ted was interested in what was happening around the dinner table and at 4.5 months we started giving him taste portions using Knatteplocks pree-spoon! He could easily grab the spoon himself and bring it to his mouth. What a success both Ted and the rest of the family think!

The holes in the spoon are perfect for catching just the right amount of puree. We started with the first “hole” and increased the amount using the three holes in the spoon. Ted is now 5.5 months old and becomes completely lyrical when he is placed in the chair and
"See the spoon! A fun and easy tool to start introducing food and practicing hand-to-mouth movement."

-Alicia H

"Mike, 7 months old, says that pre-spoon is great and easy"
to hold even for a baby who often drops things 😜"

-Sarah E.

"My 4 month old son loves his pre spoon, perfect for eating
with yourself and the food won't fall off! 😍"

-Sofia B

"We have started using the beginner spoon for Ludvig, 4.5 months old, for taste tests. It really works AWESOME! He gets a good grip without help and manages to taste and get just the right amount in his mouth. His favorites so far are porridge, mashed strawberries and carrot puree."

Frequently asked questions about our pre-spoon

Our pre-spoon has a wider handle made of easy-to-grip silicone, making it easier for a baby to hold compared to a regular spoon.

The baby does not need to be able to scoop food onto the spoon, which makes it easier to independently bring food from the plate to the mouth. It is enough to dip the spoon in food for it to stick to the spoon's holes. And even if the baby tips the spoon, the food stays in place. Less frustration - more enjoyable mealtime!

Our starter spoon can be used from 4 months to provide taste sensations. Taste sensations mean that the baby gets to practice being introduced to different tastes. By exposing your child to different flavors early on, they may be more likely to accept and appreciate different types of food later in life. Read more here about the benefits of taste training your baby from 4 months.

From 6 months it is time to start introducing solid foods (if your baby is ready for it, signs that your baby is ready for solid foods). Using our beginner spoon makes it easier for your child to explore food on their own.

The starter spoon is best suited for mashed foods and purees. When it comes to chunks, it is better to use a regular spoon/fork or let your child eat with their hands.

Children who are introduced to finger foods early also develop chewing skills early. Delaying foods with texture and chew resistance can delay the development of these skills. Read more here about the benefits of finger foods and BLW.
